1984 Ferrari 288 GTO
Services Performed
Major Maintenance: Removed the power unit for camshaft drive belt replacement, valve clearance setting and timing operations. The cooling system received new hoses throughout.
Clutch Service: Removed and disassembled the gearbox to seal the bell housing clutch circuit against aeration due to the porous magnesium casting. Replaced the clutch assembly. Renewed all seals and hardware. The clutch master and slave cylinder were replaced as well.
Cylinder Head Service: Removed both cylinder heads and performed complete overhaul including new valves, guides, seals and seats.
Coating Renewal Service: The wrinkle finish on the plenums and the cylinder head covers was in need of attention. These were carefully stripped, prepared and coated with the correct finish. Other items tended to were many engine compartment trims, fasteners, supports which were prepared and plated to original specifications.
Suspension Service: The Koni dampers, springs and bushings were renewed by master suspension artisans.
Wheel Service: The Speedline Wheels were carefully stripped, disassembled and restored to like-new appearance and condition. The wheels were then shod with new rubber.
Interior Service: The dashboard, pillar trims, center console and parcel tray were renewed as were the door panels. The seats received appropriate care. Seals and hardware were replaced when appropriate.
Accessory Removal Service: Accessories that were installed on the GTO that were not of Ferrari origin were removed with the utmost care and discarded.
